The idol of ‘Our Lady’ or ‘Kappal Karachi Amma’ meaning ‘the mother who came by ship’ is vibrantly done up in the church.
It is not a good idea to visit the beach during summers as you might get some serious sunburns due to the scorching heat. Also, it gets very hot and uncomfortable during this season. The ideal time to visit Thumpoly Beach is between the months of November to February. The weather during this time period is pleasant which will help you beat the heat. You can specifically plan a trip during the Thumpoly Church Feast if you want to be a part of the festivities. It is held for 11 days each and every year, starting from the 8th of December.
