The main deity presiding the temple called Parthasarathi, which is another name for Lord Krishna, is carved out of black granite stone and also sculpted along is the sacred conch also known as shankh in the left hand, and a whip in the right.
Pathiramanal is a small island in the backwaters of Kerala near Alappuzha, filled with pristine surroundings in an idyllic setting. The word ‘Pathiramanal’ means ‘sands of night’ and boasts of a picturesque landscape, surrounded by water and verdant wilderness. Sprawling over 10 acres of land, the islet is the perfect spot for bird watching expeditions as this place is now home to a variety of endangered and rare species. This haven of natural beauty is also believed to nurture plants that have medicinal qualities.
Revi Karunakaran Museum is a memorial museum that was built by Betty Karunakaran in the memory of her husband, who was one of the leading coir industrialist and businessman of Kerala – Revi Karunakaran. Built in 2003, this renowned and privately owned museum is among the largest of its kind, holding vast Swarovski crystals in jade, Tanjore paintings, ivory, sculptures, porcelain, Murano glassworks and Belgian glass works etc. Initially, the depository was actually meant for personal use, but after the passing of Revi Karunakaran in 2003, Betty decided to open the display for public view.
At a distance of 47 km from Alappuzha (Alleppey) in the Alappuzha district of Kerala, The Krishnapuram Palace is a museum and also a palace that is located in Kayamkulam. One of the most popular palaces of Kayamkulam, this beautiful palace was built during the reign of Anizham Thirunal Marthanda Varma, who was a Travancore Kin; the palace is known for its mural architecture and paintings. In fact, the palace is built with narrow corridors, a gabled roof, and dormer windows in the traditional architectural style of Kerala. It is an active fishing harbour that draws a large number of locals and fishermen every day. The Thottappally Spillway that is located nearby is also quite an attraction! It helps in separating the saline water at the mouth of the river that later drains into the Arabian Sea and the freshwater of the Thottappally Lake.
