Hotel Safety Tips for Women for Safe Travel

When you think about traveling alone, you might feel the need to have company. However, that doesn’t have to be a problem if you are willing to take some extra precautions. Hotel safety for ladies should be the primary concern for them when they are traveling alone.

Hotel Safety Tips for Women while Traveling

It is not always safe for women traveling solo to stay in hotels. This is why it is important to find out whether the place has a reputation or not before booking it. So, here are some measures females can take to ensure the safety of their trip(s):

    • Keep a Check on Your Entire Luggage: It has happened too frequently that females enter the hotel lobby, release their bags, and stand at the counter to register. The issue there is that their bags are behind them. Anyone can simply grab them and go. Make certain your bags are in front of you or that your hand is on your luggage at all times. Keep track of your luggage to avoid losing it.
    • Try to Fetch a Room Somewhere between Second and Sixth Floors: Staying on the first floor of hotels with outdoor room access makes break-ins more likely, say some experts. Furthermore, staying on the sixth floor or below may make it easier for the fire department’s ladders to access the scene of a fire, some experts say.
  • Check the Room Thoroughly: Before you close the door for the first time, inspect the room thoroughly. Check behind the curtains, in the bathroom, and the shower.
  • Read the Safety Guide of the Hotel: It may seem like common sense, but how often do you study the airline safety handout every time you sit down on an airplane? When you stay in several hotels, you begin to think of them as all the same, like airplanes.
  • Do Not Answer Hotel Door: Unless you requested room service or are expecting any guests, there is no reason for someone to knock on your hotel door. You can call down to the front desk to verify whether someone was sent to your room if someone does and claims to work for the hotel.
  • Sleep with a Working Flashlight: Having a flashlight app for your phone is just as good as having a flashlight in your travel safety kit. In case of emergency or power outages, having a flashlight close by is a good idea.
  • Use Hotel’s Safe! This prevents any unsavory characters that may enter the room from taking or stealing your belongings. You may also store your valuables in the safe.
  • Try Keeping Your Curtains Closed: It’s a warning sign if the curtains are open when you first enter your hotel room. Keeping them closed while you’re away is one way to make sure no one can peek in and see what you’ve left behind.
  • Never Publicize Your Room Number: Whether social media or video calls; never publicize your room number even with your friends and relatives; you might not know who is listening or reading!
